Anjali Tannan, M.D.

Anjali Tannan, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has worked at Chicago-based University Ophthalmology Associates since 2015. She is also an Assistant Professor and has served as the Residency Program Director at Rush University Medical Center since 2018. She specializes in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, anterior segment reconstruction, external disease, corneal infections, and corneal transplants.

 

Dr. Tannan obtained her bachelor of science and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush University medical Center in Chicago where she served as chief resident. She then went on to complete a fellowship in cornea, external diseases and refractive surgery at Stein Eye Center at UCLA in Los Angeles.

 

Dr. Tannan dedicates much of her time to resident and medical student education, and was the recipient of the Golden Apple Teaching Award for Surgical Education in 2016, Rookie of the Year award in 2018, and the Golden Apple Teaching Award for Clinical Education in 2020. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgery, and the Cornea Society. She currently sits on the Skills Transfers Advisory Committee for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
